Name : Antonio Loureiro
Resident : Brazil
Instruments : Piano, Composer, Producer

Marked by the variety of Brazilian music, the concert “Misturando a Terra” peformed by Antonio Loureiro, composer, multi-instrumentalist and arranger, mingles two musical potencies. The repertoire is clearly influenced by the strength that the song-poem has in Brazilian Culture.

In addition to that, instrumental music also plays an important role in the concert. Antonio Loureiro belongs to the new season of Brazilian musicians from the state of Minas Gerais, composing songs and instrumental music that make clear that a new and promising music is being made in Brazil.

The guideline of these two parts of the concert is the African-Brazilian rhythmic wealth that permeates Brazilian music, showing its themes, cultural expressions such as Tambor de Crioula do Maranhão (Antonio is a member of the Tambor de Crioula Seguidores de São Benidito), Congado, Boi-bumbá, Candomblé, samba (and its variations), baião, through melodies, lyrics and rhythms.

Since the year 2000, Antonio has worked with other important musicians such as: Juarez Moreira, Toninho Horta, Chico Amaral, Flávio Henrique, Kristoff Silva (he recorded eletronic arrangements and several instruments for the album "Em pé no Porto"; he is also a member of Silva's group), Luis Tatit, Ná Ozzetti, Robertinho Silva, Quarteto Monte Pascoal (saxofone quartet), Nivaldo Ornelas, Mauro Rodrigues, Duofel (as a special guest in the release of the album "Experimenta"), Cléber Alves, Joatan Nascimento, Weber Lopes, Magno Alexandre, Stephan Kurmann (Suíça), André (Limão) Queiroz, Alieksey Vianna, Santiago Reither (Cuba), Rafael Martini, Ricardo Fiúza, Makely Ka among others.

As a song composer, he worked along with Makely Ka, Dudu Nicácio, Kristoff Silva, Flavio Henrique, the latter was Loureiro's partner composing the song Gato de Armazém, interpreted by Verônica Ferriani, in his last album ( still not released). Antonio has aready presented in many clubs and music events in Brazil such as Tempo de Música, Música de Domingo, 5ª poética and Música Independente, the latter broadcasted by Rede Minas (TV) and Rádio Inconfidência (radio), making possible the improvement of his work and the creation of a genuine and consistent conception.

As a pianist and composer, he won, in 2007, the VIIth BDMG Award in the category Instrumental Composition and Arrangement, one of the most important music awards in Brazil. He was chosen unanimously by the committee presided by the conductor Nelson Ayres.
