Collaborating with Scottish musicians John Burgess (sax/flute), Ronnie Rae Jr. (keys), Bobby Heatlie Sr., Ant Davies and Gavin Dickie (Bass).
Inspired by the likes of George Benson, Nile Rodgers, Larry Carlton, The Average White Band and The Crusaders, Warden has created a blissfully cool laid back groove album that’s strong on ‘melody and hooks’ as it is ‘cool and mellow’. The cover of The Crusaders ‘Put It Where You Want It’ showcases the bands obvious talent and skill. But not to be outdone Warden’s song writing skills put the rest of the album on par.
‘I decided to record the album following the success of my Smooth Jazz and Cool Groove EP.’ But like so many musical projects I put it on the back burner to focus on work with Tam White, Boz Burell (Bad Company), studio recording and theatre touring’
Like the Average White Band before them the Blue Soul Groove collective shows that these Scottish musicians are as funky, mellow and cool as their celebrated US counterparts.
