Name : Criss Starr
Resident : USA
Instruments : Multi-Instrumentalist, Composer

Criss Starr is a multi-talented artist with years of experience in the music business both nationally and internationally. Criss’ love of music began as a boy, when sang in his church’s choir and learned to play the piano, bass, guitar, and drums. In the early eighties, Criss moved to Minneapolis.

In 1983, Criss released his debut album, Criss Starr. He also formed the band, the Future, which built a formidable reputation in the Twin Cities (and surrounding areas). As the Future sold out venues in the Twin Cities, they worked on their first album which contained the song, Already Yesterday, a song Criss wrote. Already Yesterday was a smash hit that received frequent airplay and critical acclaim.

After releasing Already Yesterday, Criss moved to Japan where he performed nightly at Pickford Live Hall. At Pickford Live Hall, Criss shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight, the Temptations, among others. In 2001, Criss caught the eye of Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds who invited Criss to play on his worldwide Face to Face tour.

After completing the Babyface tour, Criss returned to the States and created his own record label where he managed and produced artists. Criss also continued to work on his songwriting and his own music. In 2006, Criss released the single, Yours 4 Ever. And, in January 2009, Criss released On the Keys, a sophisticated, smooth jazz album that features Starr's unique and intuitive interpretations of Ribbons in the Sky, as well as Starr’s original songs Raspberry Beret and Break it Down.

Criss’s style resonates with sincerity and thought and avoids the overly sentimental character that plagues many others in his genre. Criss's music exudes a wealth of sensuality and sophistication. Criss is one of those rare artists who has it all. He is a great singer, songwriter, musician, and performer.
