As vocal music instructor he has several years experience teaching applied voice and serving as choral director for ensembles of varied learning levels. He has taught courses in music appreciation, music history/literature, beginning & intermediate level piano classes, voice class, language diction, music theory, and general humanities.

Awards and honors include The Northwestern University Eckstein Fellowship in Vocal Performance Graduate Studies, Charleston Southern University Choral Scholarships, a CSU Academic Achievement Award in Religion Studies, The Charleston (SC) Scientific and Cultural Educational Fund Fellowship Award, The Catfish Row Company Porgy and Bess Music Scholarship,
