eddy palermo
In 1998 Palermo moved to Brazil, where he stayed for a couple of years working with great names of the Brazilian music scene like: Mauricio Einhorn, José Robero Bertrami, Paulinho Troumpete, Pery Ribeiro, Toninho Horta, Roberto Menescal, Wanda Sá and Rosália De Souza.

The experience has made Palermo develop a unique Jazz sound with a Brazilian swing.

Eddy Palermo performs with his own Jazz ensemble. In his portfolio of global collaborations as a solo guitarist he has worked with jazz greats such as Chet Baker, George Coleman, Billy Smith, David Sanborn, George Garzone,Tony Monaco Ray Mantilla, Jim Hall, Bucky Pizzarelly and Joe Pass.

In his home country, Palermo has performed with great Italian names such as Bruno Martino, Stefano di Battista, Niky Nicolai, Flavio Boldro, Nunzio Rotondo, Roberto Gatto,
Rosario Giuliani, Romano Mussolini Massimo Urbani and others.

From Instanbul to Huston, Eddy has performed in many Jazz Festivals around the world; to name a few: Úmbria Jazz, Celimontana Jazz, Eddy Lang Jazz Festival, Tuscia in Jazz (Italy)
Istambul (1982), Houston (2002), Rio de Janeiro: Esch Cafè (2008), S.Paulo: Sesc (2008)

Italy has always had good musicians and recently I had the opportunity to get to know and play with the incredible guitarist Eddy Palermo.

His spontaneous style of playing is expressed with great technical ability and velocity without losing sensibility and musicality. On improvisation, his phrases are sophisticated and very creative. And most of all, Eddy has a lot of swing and has an understanding of Brazilian music like few musicians have.

It has been a great honor and joy for me to collaborate with him on his new CD. Viva Eddy who plays with heart.

A big hug and good luck. Toninho Horta
