Began playing guitar at age 9 influenced by her father, brother and grandfather who were also musicians.
Later, he studied bass-guitar and guitar at the Foundation for Arts Education-MG-Brazil. Also studied vocal technique with Patricia Amaral. In his career played and shared the stage with Claudio Venturini (14 bis), Pepeu Gomes (Novos Baianos), Andre Christovam, Celso Blues Boy, Viva Santana, Blues Etílicos, Vasco Faé among many others, thus acquiring a wide experience with the music, the blues and your ramifications.
In 2006 he created the "Mine Blues Jam", a project that aims to disseminate the blues and launching new artists in Minas Gerais through concerts and workshops. Since then, Gustavo has already invited several artists to the jams of Minas Blues Jam. Already participated in the project, Big Joe Manfra, Jefferson Gonçalves, Big Gilson, Felipe Cazaux, Robson Fernandes, Décio Caetano, Rodrigo Nézio, Ted McNeely, André Carlini, Leandro Ferrari, Rodica, Bauxita, among others.
Gustavo currently leads the Hot Spot Blues Band, considered the best blues band of Minas Gerais by the newspapers "Estado de Minas" (Minas Gerais) and "O Dia" (Rio De Janeiro), in 2008. The band's debut album, entitled "Feeling Alright" was released in 2008 the label "Time Blues Records." Feeling Alright shows all talent, experience and siwng of the Gustavo Andrade & Hot Spot Blues Band in modern versions of some classic blues/soul.
