He'd played with the finest student orchestras on Long Island, NY, was recognized by NY state as one of its top musicians and excelled in performance on upright bass as well as arranging, composition and conducting.

After high school graduation and joining the service, he was stationed in Japan from 1977-1979 where he played electric bass on club and concert dates with Oy Takahashi, Miyanoue Yoshiaki, Keiji Yoshida and The 9th Of June.

Upon returning to the US at the end of 1979, Jerome arrived in the high desert region of southern California and formed the band Fat Sound Inc., a jazz/soul/funk band. The group included saxaphonist Jim Wheeler(Kenny Loggins/Jim Messina), keyboardist George Crawford(Jimmy Castor), drummer Steve Hines and guitarist Tyrone Gregory. The band later included members Rich Sumner(Zzaj) on guitar, Sonny "Bones" Jones on keyboards, and Tomas "Block" Atkinson on percussion.

Jerome later moved to Los Angeles in 1985 and to its busy music scene. As a bassist and vocalist, he performed and recorded with Urban Artillery ("Racism Is Ignorance" - Crash N' Burn Records); Tom Borton ("The Lost World" - Mesa/Bluemoon); King Brothers ("Turnin' Up The Heat" - Vent Records); David Collini ("A.S.A.P." - Optimism); Hollywood Bears ("Bear Yourself" - Statue Records);  The Big Picture, True Confessions, singer Rockie Turane and legendary guitarist  Jackie Lee "Waukeen" Cochran.

He recorded numerous demos around town, and was often found working with noted industry veteran engineer Brian Levi at Burbank's Clear Lake Audio. Jerome also branched out into audio post-production working with Juilliard graduate Ken Lauber, and Synclavier lessons from Kevin Maloney at the Long Island Sound Co.. Located in Lion's Gate Films' building, he worked with clients such as Turner, Showscan, Laurel Entertainment, Playboy, Lion's Gate Films and New World Entertainment. While there, he also recorded the audio for Film Dallas Corporation's logo, which preceded all their films. After Urban Artillery released the EP "Racism Is Ignorance" in 1992, one of its songs, "Racist Town", co-written by Jerome was featured in the 1994 film "Floundering" starring James LeGros. The song was also released on the Caroline Records soundtrack for the film.

Jerome also hosted his own half hour radio music show called, "Jerome Lee's Tuneful Mix", on KCLA-FM cable radio Los Angeles, CA, during 1994.

Moving to Europe in 1995, Jerome went to London, England and had great experiences performing shows and tracking recordings with Meru, Rob Hinton's group "Run For Cover", and DJ Jez.

Later in 1995, he moved to Amsterdam, The Netherlands where he found an abundance of activity in the local music scene. As well as working several club venues as an audio technician, Jerome also taught electric bass at the International School Of Amsterdam for three years. He started his own group, "Jerome Lee City" in 1997 and fronted the group for more than six years, traveling all over Holland. The group also did festivals in Germany and two tours to Sardinia Island, Italy.

After meeting musician, producer and Oscar winner Niki Buzz in 1996, Jerome toured with him as the "Niki Buzz Band" and worked with him as the backing band  touring with Curtis Knight. He also did shows and tour dates with Rick Piepers, Cris Corstens, Wendy Sheridan, Jeff Hollie, Greg Kranenburg, Pablo Minoli, Koksal Perzuk, Hark The Voice, Nichole daLuz, Orville's Oxygen and Greg Pataca. He also recorded with singer / songwriter Sonny Griffin ("Soul Shadows" - Newago Records); Red Herring ("Something's Fishy" - Independent); and rapper E-Life. Jerome produced and released his own solo CD "Life This Time" in 2003, co-produced by Niki Buzz.

Returning to the States in 2003, Jerome arrived in New York and recorded music with Tom and Trish Chappell, resulting in the 2006 release of "Something Good"(Independent) by TN'T. That CD went on to become a top ten pick of 2006 in the Nu-Soul category at Soul-Patrol.com.

Jerome is now in Las Vegas, Nevada and has played a solo bass guitar show for Acoustic Routes, a local singer/songwriter organization. He has also performed a solo bass guitar set on Las Vegas' Entertainers and Songwriters Showcase, airing on cable TV station KTUD25 (UPN). Jerome has been working his next CD release and on the start of his own music production company, Boss Bass Music. He is also currently working with master pianist Silard Somorjay on his latest music group and preparing for future live events and recordings.

Jerome is a BMI member, and has a current U.S. passport.
