In 2003 she moved to Rio de Janeiro, a year later she recorde her first album ' Simples '. Marcela also features in the upcoming album ' Just Bossa ' to be release in Europe through the label Brazilian Music Connection.
Her debut album ' Simples ', released in Japan in 2005 has made it to the top of the charts of the HMV stores after six weeks of the launch. In Brazil ' Simples ' has been released in 2007. The journalist Nelson Motta, the most reknowned Brazilian music critic has considered Marcela to be the greatest new vocal talent of that year in Brazil after listening to her album. In Europe ' Simples ' was released in the summer of 2008.

is truly a hommage to Brazilian Popular Music. The project started in 2004 when Albatroz Music was developing a new label ' Bossa 58 ' focussed on the bossa nova style and endless forms of expression, from intimate, acoustic styles to the most innovative, contemporary arrangments.
Albatroz Music initially planned to record an album with a crossover of bossa nova and lounge music. Marcela was invited to sing in a couple of tracks, however, impressed by her voice and singing talent, Albatroz Music decided to produce her debut album.
Marcela was discovered by Brazilian music legend Roberto Menescal, who produced and arranged the album ' Simples ' along with his son Márcio, Both father and son also feature on the album as songwriters and playing guitar ( Roberto ), bass, keyboards and programming ( Márcio ).
