Like our main show STREETJAZZ, The STREETJAZZ Vaults also offers the same focus on Smooth Jazz, Great Vocals and Brazilian Flavours and also has some show features including our Featured Artist and Album and a segue slot called ' Out Of The Box '.
Our Features Artists and Album are trumpeter Rick Braun and saxman Richard Elliot from their collaboration set from 2008 entitled ' R'n'R ', we feature the Brazilian flavoured ' Sao Paulo ' and ' Two Heart Tango '.
Our ' Outside Of The Box ' four-in-a-row segue offers tracks which were particular favourites of mine over the years and showcase some excellent Indie Artist. We start with Twilight 22 with their club anthem ' In The Night ' from 1984, we melt to American girl duo Zhane with ' Crush ' taken from their ' Saturday Night ' set from 1997 and Mr Fingers enquires about ' What About This Love ?' which was a 12" single from 1992. London band Animal Nightlife complete the set with some cool vibes for a summer's day on ' Native Boy ' from 1983.
We have some outstanding vocals for you on the show which start off with the sultry ballad ' Give In ' from Marilyn Scott's ' I'm In Love ' CD from 2003, Jimmy Cliff adds his silky touch to ' Fine Time To Explain ' from Spyro Gyra's ' Love And Other Obsessions ' set from 1995.
Prepare to melt with Kuh ( Ledesma ) and ' Keep On Loving You ' from 1996 from her ' Precious ' collection and Will Downing is joined by sax great Kirk Whalum to bring us a wonderful ballad entitled ' All I Need Is You ' from his album ' After Tonight ' from 2007.
Will Downing joins forces with project band Club 1600 for the vibes lead ' Where You Want To Be ' from 2006 and Spur Of The Moment caress us with their hit ' Longer Than Forever ' from their ' Out Of The Shadows ' CD from the millennium year of 2000.
We have some outstanding Brazilian Flavours on the show from Ashanti with ' Samba Cun ' from their ' Dyos Bo'Otik ' set from 2004, Rio native and guitarist Torcuato Mariano brings us ' In The Rhythm Of The Heart ' from his ' Paradise Station ' CD from 1994 and Ambrose raise the temperatures with ' Sao Ysidro from their ' Pleasure, Pain And Dezire ' set from 2010.
The maestro Eumir Deodato had a huge cross-over club hit in the 1980's with ' Whistle Bump ' but it actually first appeared on his ' Love Island ' set in 1977 with a host of superstars appearing on the album including George Benson.
Smooth Jazz fans will enjoy offerings from Jeff Kashiwa and his classic ' Hyde Park ', Nelson Rangell and his lesser known track called ' Graduation Day ' and Guitarist Doc Powell stops by with ' Sunday Mornin'.
Freddie Ravel brings us his standard ' We Belong Together ' from his ' Sol To Soul ' album and Jennifer York teams up with Eric Marienthal on ' a segue track including Cheryl Lynn's ' Got To Be Real ' and The Emotions disco smash ' Best Of My Love '.
Two great artists who are sadly no longer with us have tribute tracks to their contribution to the music we enjoy ie. keys man Zachary Breaux with his ' Laidback ' cut from 1994 and Art Porter with his classic song ' Wishful Thinking ' from 1996.
Watch out for indie pianist Rick McLemore and his excellent song ' The Way We Are ' from 2005 and Vance Taylor's sax on ' Long Overdue ' from his album of the same name from 2008.
I hope you enjoy the music as much as I do and you find some tracks to add to your own musical collection from our extensive STREETJAZZ VAULTS.
