He has performed at various jazz festivals in Brazil, New York, Paris, and Canada, and recorded several albums including 1985's Alguma Coisa A Ver Com O Silencio, Casamata, and 1993's Caminhos Cruzados (none available in the U.S.).
In 1995, he had finished his first solo CD “PORTA DO TEMPLO” ( Temple Gate ) in the United States (nominated for the Sharp Awards in Brasil, and included among the 150 best CDs released in Europe In 1996 he had participated in a Japan Tour with Joyce, performed in the Jingu Stadium ( Tokio ) and in the Blue Note Jazz Club in Tokio and Fukuoka, recorded live by ANA airlines.
He also has been arranging for the Orquestra Jazz Sinfonica from São Paulo, including the last Marlui Miranda’s CD “IHU 2- Rezar”. In 1998 by the World Music Charts Europe ) with the Turtle Island String Quartet and François de Lima (brazilian trombonist nominated in 1999 for the Grammy with his band “Mantiqueira” ).
Rocha continues to tour Brazil and made his U.S. debut with the album Moleque, recorded for Malandro Records, in 1998.
One of his two last movie soundtracks, “O Cineasta da Selva”, was released as a CD, and became the first brasilian CD mixed in Dolby Sorround.
His last work, recently released North Meets South / Sul Encontra Norte, with north american vionist Tracy Silverman is a duo of percussion and violin, where they share compositions and arrangements in order to create a new flavoured pan american recipe.
Caito have released in 2005 his solo album called Auto-Retrato ( Self-Portrait ), recorded live with the special participation of singers Marlui Miranda, Monica Salmaso and the audience itself that, conducted by Caito have created a totally new song with voice and a percussion effect made with folded paper.
In the same year, he realized an european tour, performing in Germany ( Rudolstadt Festival ), Netherlands and Belgium ( Arts O Base and Le Bouche a Oreille ).
He`d also recorded two CDs, the first one with Tracy Silverman, Teco Cardoso and Lula Alencar, and the other one with Tracy and Jaime Zenamon, both CDs with pieces by the two different crews.
