Born and raised in Paris, France, U-Nam began playing guitar at the age of 12 and studied for 3 years between 1986 and 1989 at the Paris based CIM, the first European school for jazz.

At the age of 19 he turned profession becoming a fixture at Paris studio sessions. At the age of 24he released a solo album on the Swiss / American funk label Lakeside Music (Bobby Byrd, The Meters, Buddy Miles..) a clever mix of jazz guitar, funk, soul and hip-hop. He continued to produce and make music before releasing 'The Past Builds The Future' on the Trippin'N'Rhythm record label in 2005, scoring a smooth jazz hit with 'I'm Only U-Nam'

For the past 10 years, whilst focusing on his solo career, U-Nam has also devoted himself to songwriting, production and remixes, working for national and international acts such as Barry White, Honeyz, Luis Fonsi, Kool And The Gang, Billy Paul, Before Dark, CNote, Organiz, Ophelie Winter, MC Solaar, Houcine (Winner of The French Fame Academy TV Show), Sofiance (French Fame Academy 4), Donia ( Finalist French Popstars TV Show) collecting numerous Gold and Platinum albums.

In 2007 U-Nam released his sophomore album 'Back To The 80's' produced the number one hit 'Streetlife' which topped the US Billboard Top 3 Chart for 3 months and the Top 10 Charts for the entire year. ' Streetlife' is still one of the most recurring played tracks on top jazz radio today.

U-Nam recently moved from Paris to the USA and is already performing with and praised by the top artists of our time.

His new set 'Unanimity' has just been released full of funky soul filled tracks.

The Cellar Nightclub adds Smooth Jazz to their Line-up: The One Soul Jazz Series
International Recording Artist, U-Nam to Host Weekly Jazz Series.


Long Beach, CA, September 28, 2009: International Recording Artist U-Nam will be hosting The “ One Soul Jazz Series” every Sunday evening from 6PM-9PM beginning October 18 with Special Guest Oli Silk at The Cellar in Long Beach, California. U-Nam will open the show with his 6 piece band of world renowned musicians and feature chart topping keyboardist Oli Silk. Oli’s current hit, “Chill or Be Chilled” from his current CD entitled, “The Limit’s the Sky”, climbed to #3 on the Billboard Smooth Jazz chart and remained in the Top 10 for 4 months. He has been a featured keyboardist with Peter White’s Band, Euge Groove and Marc Antoine to name a few .

Hailing from Paris, France, U-Nam best known for his #1 instrumental single, “Street Life” from the CD entitled, “Back from the 80’s” topped Billboards Top 10 charts for an entire year. U-Nam’s recently released CD, “Unanimity” is sure to take the world by storm with his unique guitar sound and funky soul filled melodies.
U-Nam has teamed up with Producer, Debbie Parks of Star PR to create an “all-star” show that can be presented on a regular basis in a small nightclub or venue with a minimum capacity. Parks adds, “We’ve eliminated the complexity of the production while reducing the costs of travel and backline by providing an all-star house band and coordinated routing with our special guests”.

The Cellar is located in downtown Long Beach and offers an intimate vibe not unlike the nightclubs of a bygone era. Owner, Chef Paul St Bernard offers his signature dishes that include home style cooking at affordable prices. At $15 general admission and $25 VIP seating, The Cellar is offering award winning entertainment for a reasonable price compared to most.

On October 25, U-Nam will host the Official Grand Opening of the Jazz Series and will be celebrating his Birthday at The Cellar as well. VIP’s and Press from all over the country are expected to attend along with several surprise guest musicians for a great night of Smooth Jazz and Funk. Other artists scheduled to appear with U-Nam are Michael Paulo (November 8), Tom Braxton (November15) and Gregg Karukas (November 22).
