I have always enjoyed music in the extreme, growing up in a family of professional musicians gave me an early insight as to the myriad of music which was available in the world and not just to the exposure of the Top 40 'Spoon-Fed Tracks' on national radio.

I feel privileged to have travelled and been exposed to a diverse range of musical styles and although I liked much of what I heard, my favourite musical taste was jazz and particularly Brazilian Bossa Nova and Easy Listening Jazz, the kind that you didn't have to think too hard about.

Therefore I have championed many many artists in my time as a music presenter in clubs, radio and on my websites for more than 40 years or so whereby I have been trying to get others to break away from the brainwashing of monolithic chart music.

This website includes many lesser known, but equally as talented artists as well as the better known ones and I would love to hear from any artists / recording company / agents who think that their, or their artist's music, would fit into the Smooth Jazz or Brazilian Jazz format of the JazzNet247 programming.

Nowadays it is easy to attach an MP3 file as an email attachment or I can download them from a website and add appropriate tracks into the programming.

There is less and less of this great music being played on national and commercial radio and the more people we can expose it to, perhaps one day it will enjoy a renaissance as 'what goes round comes round'. 

I have collected tens of thousands of tracks and many thousands of artists from around the world in my 40 years of this love affair and I am sure that if you tune in to the shows, I hope to be able to introduce you to many new names, tracks and albums for you to enjoy.

I want to say thank you to the many artists featured on our shows who have been so courteous and took the time to reply to Biography requests and forward New Music for inclusion on the shows. It is a tribute to the down-to-earth jazz performers that such household names will take the time to reply personally to this project. Respect....
